Rampant political cross dressing
Could it be true that the traditional divisions between left and right, between capitalist and socialist, between conservative and progressive are no longer relevant? Blair says so. Sure seems that way in many places. Hell, we'll have to invent new names to call each other!

Those distinctions lost meaning for me a long time ago. I've yet to meet someone who is totally one thing or the other. I know conservatives who like change. Radicals who're nostalgic about the past (albeit distant past). I know fiscally conservative liberals and "tax and spend" conservatives. Political parties are simply rallying points for a bunch of people who have similar ideas on a bunch of topics - but not the same ideas on all topics.
I mostly agree. In the NZ and Australian contexts though, there are still some issues that fall along the traditional divide; IR being the most obvious.
Ho-hum! Still going on about that old chestnut, are you? Well believe it if you want -- personally I think a glance back over your blog provides a pretty good illustration of the dividing line between left and right!
What? David C, most of my blog deals with rugby, I just break it up with politics so it doesn't look so desparate. Though, there you may have a point since Helen's such a strong supporter of rugger!
