Got em', gone!

After a lengthy but unproductive time at the crease, Brash has been given out LBW; Lying Bumbling Womaniser.

Wow, wikipedia updated already!

So what's your pick for the replacement/re-shuffle? The real question is will Key and English do a deal (and therefore knock Brownlee out of the #2 slot)?

I pick that Brash will stay on as finance spokesperson, or if he goes then English will get finance. I also reckon Henare will be in for a big promotion as the new leader tries to position closer to the Maori Party.

I rather liked Brash - but he was a hopeless politician. It's laughable how he is being portrayed as saintly by the rightosphere.

I don't actually actively dislike him but I entirely dislike the way he behaved as leader - I think he was badly advised from the get go. However, I suspect he's a genuine Liberal; more tolerant and accepting than many of his public pronouncements suggest. The comments on ANZUS, the involvement with the EBs, the offensive Orewa/race relations policies all combined to make me wish for his demise.

To his genuine credit, he has left politics, and the National Party, in a timely manner.

I lost any respect I had for him when I realised that he was so willing to sacrifice any views he may have held of his own in order to get up in the polls. People may be critical of Helen Clark and Labour for being poll-driven, but they at least have some bottom lines. It appears Brash was willing to sacrifice his own values without a second thought if his advisors told him to. Although I totally disagree with him on most of the big issues, I would have respected him more if he had actually been willing to argue what he thought, not what his advisors thought people wanted to hear.

Chris, I'm more than a little concerned about Labour's bottomlines now...
