Please, please, please give Eddie the job

Eddie Jones wants to coach England; brilliant - if his salary demands are too great, I can think of 4 million people who'll happily chip in to make up the difference.

As bad a shape as the rugby team is in over here, I don't think England wants him. Or rather, they certainly shouldn't. We'd rather have John Mitchell! And that's saying something!

Mitchell - hadn't even thought of him but he's an obvious candidate. Is he being talked about in the UK, I've not heard/read anything down here.

Perhaps he's learned from his experiences with the All Blacks? Still, I suspect he harbours a desire to return to the All Blacks coaching job and coaching England may work against him.

I'm not following the debate too closely, but the other day I heard a couple of ex-players say that they favoured Nick Mallett.

Mallett - interesting choice. Easily the Republic's best coach but yet another casualty.

Is there no one of English origin capable of running the team? Not having a NZer running the All Blacks is unimaginable.
